Forums take place on Sunday mornings at 9:40 AM from September to May. All are welcome to attend these learning opportunities.
There will be no adult forums during the summer months. We look forward to seeing you again for the educational hour starting in September. Have a great and safe summer! .
Final Sundaes on Wednesdays
Our final Sundaes on Wednesdays event for the summer will be on Wednesday, August 16 at 6:30 pm. Please join us for a meet-and-greet with Tori Remer, our new Youth Mentor, and hear from Wilderness Canoe Base travelers about their adventures and time of spiritual growth in the Boundary Waters.
Camp Onomia Quilt Auction
St. Timothy has a long history of supporting the ministries of Camp Onomia. This fall, Camp Onomia will celebrate the completion of several remodeling projects and invites those interested to join them for a day of celebration on Saturday, September 16. This is also the day of the annual quilt auction. Next Sunday, August 20 we will have one of the quilts that are being auctioned off on display at St. Timothy. For more information, raffle tickets, and photos of other quilts for the auction, click here.
4th-6th graders need YOU!
This fall we are hoping to have a new small group just for 4th - 6th graders on Sunday mornings for learning and group building. We are looking for a small team of adults who would be happy to take turns being small group leaders. Please talk to Pastor Ruth if you are interested in this fun opportunity!
Travel Size Personal Care Items
Because of you, we have given 98 hygiene kits to Lutheran Social Service this summer for them to use where there is the most need! 98!!!! That's a lot of little shampoo bottles! Most often these kits go to LSS's homeless youth programs for kids who are living on the street or in transitional housing.
Feel free to bring in personal care items anytime and drop them off either with the other First Sunday collections or in the youth room—our students assemble the kits.
Items that are always needed and appreciated: Travel sized shampoo, conditioner, soaps, deodorants, dental care items, lotions, hand sanitizer, nail kits, feminine care products.
Our noisy offering over the summer will go to Keystone Community Services, the local food shelf we support. Financial support for Keystone Community Services has been drastically reduced and will immediately impact their ability to deliver services to the community. For more details on the changes, please see an update posted on the bulletin board across from the church office.
Habitat for Humanity: Save the Date!
You are invited to help St. Timothy celebrate its 27th year of working with Habitat for Humanity to provide affordable housing for needy families. We will be working on a Habitat home during the week of October 2—6, 2017. Here's how you can help:
1. Donate financially to purchase construction materials. We are hoping for a donation of $4,500 outside of our regular church budget.
Sign up by Sunday, September 24 to work on the home or provide food.
Pray for Habitat home buyers, workers, and donors.
If you have any questions, please contact Len Eilts.
Loaves & Fishes
Interested in feeding hungry neighbors while feeding your soul? Loaves and Fishes is a great group of people who help serve a meal once a month to neighbors at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. In July, we need people to help serve on Tuesday, August 22. You can help anytime after 4:45 pm. Clean-up help is especially appreciated (around 6:00 pm). For more information, contact the church office.
St. Timothy sends out weekly emails with information about upcoming events as well as notes about what has been happening lately. If you would like to receive this email, please email your request to the office or call the office. Thanks!
