Forums take place on Sunday mornings at 9:40 AM from September to May. All are welcome to attend these learning opportunities.
This year, we will often focus on two related aspects of learning in our faith–being real and sensing the Word. Being real means we learn best when something touches our real life–and when we are able to be real with our doubts and questions as well as our values and abilities. Sensing the Word may need a little more description. We believe that God's Word not only has become incarnate in Jesus, but is in-the-flesh of our lives now, too. So we can use all our senses to experience God's living Word. Sensing the Word can happen not only through reading with our eyes or listening with our ears, but by walking, seeingartwork, tasting the grace of a good meal, or the back-and-forth of conversation. Don't limit the possibilities! We will look at how we can sense the Word in all kinds of ways.
April 15 Congregational Meeting There will be a brief congregational meeting about a neighbor’s request for an easement in the back of the church near the back parking lot. Members from the council will share the request and process with us for a vote.
April 22 Social Statement on Women and Justice The ELCA has a draft statement on justice with women and a call to action in society and the church. We’ll discuss this and there is an opportunity to give feedback for the final statement. Drafts are available at church.
April 29 Community Volunteering Come and learn about Opportunity Saint Paul, a program of Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul. This unique program matches dedicated volunteers with pre-selected nonprofits that have proven records of effectively addressing barriers to economic mobility. During this forum you will also learn about volunteer opportunities within the classrooms of Como Park Elementary. Several members of St. Timothy are involved in these programs and will lead the forum and share their experiences.

9th Annual Toilet Paper Drive
Deb Wineman kicked off this year's toilet paper drive for Loaves & Fishes with a new song at both services. We're asking for your donations of toilet paper and toiletries throughout the month of April, and Deb will make sure everything will get delivered to Loaves & Fishes in May. If you'd like to hear Deb sing the new theme song "Roll On," click here.
Palm Sunday Breakfast Thank-yous

Wednesday Bible Study
We are continuing with our Bible study on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm. We are currently looking at the First Letter of John. This study is open to all, and we have good conversation with questions and searching together.
If anyone would like to join in an April book reading, Hans will offer a discussion of the book Mindfulness by Harvard Professor of Psychology Ellen Langer. If you'd like to participate, please let Hans know or add your name to the sign-up sheet at the Welcome Desk and either he can order some books, or you can find it via a library or on your own.

Loaves & Fishes
Interested in feeding hungry neighbors while feeding your soul? Loaves and Fishes is a great group of people who help serve a meal once a month to neighbors at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. In April, we need people to help serve on Tuesday, April 24. You can help anytime after 4:45 pm. Clean-up help is especially appreciated (around 6:00 pm). For more information, contact the church office.
St. Timothy sends out weekly emails with information about upcoming events as well as notes about what has been happening lately. If you would like to receive this email, please email your request to the office or call the office. Thanks!
