A Quiet Space

In Mark 1:35, Jesus got up “while it was still very dark and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.”

Do you ever go out to a quiet or deserted place to pray? What is that like?

We live in a time of many stimuli – sounds and machines that are humming around us all the time. When we are in another place – a forest, a prairie, a lakeside – can you feel yourself differently? How can you be open to God there?

Some of us are not able to “go” to a deserted place right now. Is there a little space or time where you can simply be? Take 5 minutes to imagine God’s love surrounding you in your very being. Just that. Don’t try to experience anything. Just imagine.

People of St. Timothy, we all deal with many stresses that pull at the very fabric of our being. God is here nevertheless with grace for you.
