What is Faithful hospitality?

Faithful Hospitality, is an initiative of Interfaith Action of Greater St. Paul to provide a mobile shelter system in local faith communities in response to the need for overflow shelter space for asylum seeking families experiencing homelessness.  This initiative is fully funded by the State of Minnesota. Hennepin County case managers refer families to the Faithful Hospitality shelters.

How will this work?

Each month three different area congregations host Faithful Hospitality – providing overnight shelter space for up to 24 guests each night. As we only serve families, most of our guests are children. St. Timothy will open its doors in May for families experiencing homelessness. 

How can you get involved?

We need volunteers to serve as overnight hosts to help provide a safe, welcoming space and compassionate support for asylum seekers. Overnight hosts are on duty from 7pm to 7am weekdays and 7pm to 8am on weekends during the month of May.  Resources and training are provided for hosts!
