A Prayer and a Practice for Settling Your Body

Written by St. Timothy

October 26, 2020

Here is a prayer from St. Timothy’s Justice Seekers, and a practice for settling your body (from Resmaa Menakem).

God of justice, in your wisdom you create all people in your image, without exception. By your grace, open our eyes to see the dignity, beauty, and worth of every human being. Open our hearts to repent of racist attitudes, behaviors, and speech which demean others. Strengthen our resolve to hear the cries of those held back by racial injustice, white supremacy and discrimination, and their passionate appeals for change. Break our indifference to the cries of the Earth and the cries of the poor, who are most vulnerable to ecological disaster. In Jesus’s name we pray. Amen.
